ABOUT US

Inspired by Nandi, the beautiful vivacious African Queen and mother to the legendary Warrior-King Shaka Zulu. Our purpose is to share and promote authentic African art that captures the essence of her vibrant spirit and profound influence on African Culture. Nandi embodied what it is to be unapologetically African and our aim is to bring to light artists that do the same.

We proudly showcase the remarkable creations of some of Africa's most gifted artists. From beautifully crafted paintings, to intricate stone and wood sculptures, as well as an array of exquisite artifacts. We aim to unite art enthusiasts and offer the opportunity to acquire some of Africa's finest treasures. Step into our world and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of African heritage and creativity.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple - to highlight truly talented artists who have never been fairly represented. Their works have largely remained in the shadows but The House of Nandi’s goal is to bring these incredible pieces into the light and provide the artists the exposure they utterly deserve.

The driving force is, and will always be, the raw unadulterated creativity that Africa has ceaselessly produced despite the struggle so many of its nations have faced. Our Founder was born and raised in Zimbabwe and has witnessed how a deteriorating economy inspires an abundance of creativity. A failed state breeds a community who innovates and creates, not merely as a means of survival, but more pertinently to convey the beauty in their lived experiences, whether that be the simplicity of rural life, or a means to communicate their ambitions, values, and heritage.

In the words of our founder: “It has been a privilege to grow up as a Zimbabwean who has been fortunate to see so much more of the world, not only diversifying my viewpoint but really expanding my appreciation for what Africa has to offer. It is my desire, and to some degree I feel my responsibility, to start an exhibition platform for Zimbabwean and African artists alike, and create a space that incites and engages art lovers around the world. Art is my passion and The House of Nandi’s aim is to be a looking glass into Africa's creative expression.”
